Properties of Objects (10 minutes):

Next, discuss the different properties of objects that can affect their motion. Some examples include:

Mass: The amount of matter an object has.

Shape: The form or outline of an object.

Texture: The surface quality of an object.

Size: The dimensions of an object.

Ask students to think about how each of these properties might affect the motion of an object. For example, a heavy object will be harder to move than a light object. A smooth object will move more easily than a rough object. A large object will be harder to move than a small object.
