MiniMakers Curriculum

Through our Makers Club program, students will be given access to all of our “Makers Online” platform. However, depending on age, students will be given access to certian courses that are best suited to their learning needs. Each makers club session, students will work through their course material, learning, building and innovating their way to course completion. As a parent, you are able to choose which course your child has access to, from only focusing on engineering principles, or full access to our multi-disciplinary course!

JR Makers Ages 5-7

Our JR Maker lessons are designed around the learning objectives for Kindergarten through Grade 2. Students engage with physical circuits age appropriate STEAM kits in our engineering course. Drag and Drop coding lessons, in our technology course.
– Science: Biology and chemistry lessons, focused on experiments
– Technology: Drag and drop programming, and simple electronics
– Engineering: Physics based lessons, focused building challenges

MiniMakers 8-12

Our MiniMaker lessons are designed around the learning objectives for Grade 3 through Grade 7. Students will work with child safe power tools, focus on designing their own projects, and work with more difficult mediums.
– Science: Biology and chemistry lessons, focused on communicating findings
– Technology: Game & App Design, building their own robotics
– Enigneering: Physics based lessons, focused on creating solutions

All of our curriculum is designed by B.C certified teachers in accordance to the educational standards presented by the government of B.C. “STEAM Engine” is designed to supplement the education provided by the British Columbia School Districts. All curriculum is subject to change, as our team is always looking for ways to improve our delivery to ensure lessons are enjoyable, and retention of information is as high as possible!

All lessons follow the same model:

Learn It: Students engage with text or video media, and ask instructors questions
Test It: Students test their knowledge through a short interactive Quiz
Build It: Students follow a prompt stucture to guide them through a build challange
Innovate It: Students are prompted on how they can improve their project, then they submit it!

Additonally students have the option to opt into “Free Builds” where students are given to access to materials and are asked to present their own desgins!

Lastly, are always students are able to take home anything they build in class, with no additonal cost!

MiniMakers are young makers who DREAM big through a wide range of knowledge to draw from.  MiniMakers CREATE new ideas and plans to make them real.  MiniMakers BUILD their imaginations into reality.  MiniMakers INSPIRE themselves and others to know they can make the world around them better, with the skills, knowledge, confidence and courage to make it happen.
