MiniMaker’s Winter Break camp is back!
Running from Monday, December 19th to Friday, December 23rd, our winter camp will incorporate educational field trips in the Greater Vancouver area, hands-on building activities using our kid-safe tools, interactive science experiments and biology lessons developed by our in-house Biology expert – and so much more!
Schedule
Every day will be unique and an opportunity to imagine, be creative and work hands-on to make it the most fun camp ever!

Monday
- LEARN about the salmon life cycle through a lesson developed by our in-house biology expert
- BUILD our solar system kit and discuss the importance of the winter solstice holiday
- EXPERIENCE the science behind arctic climate change
- EXPLORE our kid-safe tools to build traditional indigenous winter dwellings
- MAKE your own mini toboggan and snowshoes
- ENJOY buttery popcorn freshly made in-studio
Tuesday
- LEARN about earth science elements and animal connections
- EXPERIENCE world-class science demonstrations and experiments
- EXPLORE the science behind winter animal migration and human/animal skin
- ENJOY interactive exhibits such as the Sara Stern Gallery, Body Works and Eureka!
Wednesday
- LEARN about a variety of winter animals and their winter survival adaptations
- BUILD our antigravity magnetic levitation kit and learn about winter animal migration
- EXPERIENCE winter microorganisms and snowflakes under the microscope
- EXPLORE the science behind how arctic animals stay warm during the winter
- MAKE wooden snowflakes to decorate your Christmas tree
- ENJOY a “lunch break with penguins” through Happy Feet songs
- CREATE a winter animal frame using our industrial laser machine
Thursday
- LEARN about the marine winter animals in British Columbia and their survival tactics
- EXPERIENCE how the community and animals are connected in their environment
- EXPLORE marine biodiversity, from ocean animals to coral reefs
- ENJOY interactive exhibits such as Canada’s Arctic, the wet lab and the Marine Mammal Rescue exhibit at the Vancouver Aquarium
Friday
- LEARN about the origins of snow storms through a simulated snow storm experiment
- BUILD our mini crank light kit and discuss winter storm safety
- EXPERIENCE the science behind how trees survive during winter
- EXPLORE our kid-safe tools to build a photo frame to display a family picture for the holidays
- MAKE snowmen using instant snow
- ENJOY homemade maple syrup snow candy
- CREATE personalized christmas ornaments using our industrial laser machine
Key Information:
Drop off time: 8:30 – 9:00am
Pick up time: 4pm

Price/Spots available: $499 for full week, per student – max 12 students
At drop-off, your child will need to have:
- Weather appropriate clothing (ex. Winter jacket, boots, tuque)
- Water bottle
- Lunch and snacks (nut free – following “school rules”)
- Backpack for personal items
